Located in the heart of Mt Eden Village, The Garden Shed is a cute garden-concept cafe that we wanted to visit for a while. It was quite a while back since the last we were there (the sun was still shining, not like 4 and 5 degrees cold every day like what we are having now in New Zealand), but I still remember we were really impressed with their pretty garden in the back, friendly customer service, and a very big menu.
While I started with fresh Orange Juice, he ordered himself a Summer Garden which is an amazing mixed of mango, passionfruit, banana, pineapple top with coconut cream.
We love fries (yessss!!), and because he already got his eyes on the (huge) Breakfast Board, serving up streaky bacon, spicy chorizo, poached eggs, potato rosti, roasted vine tomatoes, portobello mushroom, black beans and toasted; we just added 1 bowl of hot skinny chips served with aioli on the side.
I had a (huge, yes, there portion is quite big indeed) plate of Curious Chook, which had lemon, thyme, pink pepper basted chicken, char-grilled with streaky bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato, aioli and served on top of toasted Turkish ! Real yum !!!
